Carefree Birds Card

Happy Sunday! Beth from Beth's Beauties here with you today.  For a while, we will have weekend promos in which a certain stamp set will be free with your order of $35+. Awesome, right?! This weekend, through Monday, you can get the Raisin Boat Free As A Bird at no cost if you make a $35+ order.  Here is what I made for inspiration:
I started with a piece of watercolor paper and die cut it with a GMD stitched rectangle die.  I made the background by rubbing Distress Inks in Work Lipstick, Seedless Preserves, and Salty Ocean on an acrylic stamping block.  I lightly spritzed the block with water then flipped it upside down onto the watercolor paper.  I placed something heavy on the block and let it sit for 5 minutes, then removed the block and let it dry.  The next step was to stamp the images from the Free As A Bird set with VersaMark and heat emboss with white powder.  I really love that look!  The final bit of stamping was to add the Carefree sentiment from Free As A Bird in light blue.  I matted the white panel with solid cardstocks in the same colors as the ink.  The only embellishment I used was glitter pink Pearl Pen dots.  I think it turned out to be a very delicate and tranquil card!

Here is a look at the Free As A Bird:

How do you get it for free?? To claim this deal, simply add Free As A Bird to your shopping cart and continue shopping at SumMore Fun. Once your order *excluding* Free As A Bird reaches a subtotal of $35, Free As A Bird will automatically be marked down!

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

32 Cards From One 6x6 Paper Pad

Raise your hand if you are completely in awe of Kristie Marcotte and her ability to power through entire 6x6 paper pads...yeah me too!  Beth from Beth's Beauties here today I decided to embrace that challenge for myself!  It wasn't easy and took me three days off and on to finish the paper pad, but I ended up with these 32 cards.
I used the My Mind's Eye My Favorite Things 6x6 paper pad.  I have had it floating around in my craft room for quite some time.  I picked it because it had both masculine and feminine papers in it.  I will say that I should have been more selective because some of the papers were geared more towards scrapbooking and that left me with only side of paper to use with those sheets.  However, it didn't stop me :)
In true Kristie style, I started with some card sketches.  This first set of cards were made with Reverse Confetti sketch #32.
I used the following supplies on these cards:
  • Raisin Boat Talking in Circles stamp set (only $3.99 right now!)
  • Scrapbook.com Pine hybrid ink
  • Scrapbook.com Pink Lemonade hybrid ink
  • Cottage Cutz stitched circle dies
  • brads
  • brown and coral Recollections cardstock
  • flower

The second set of cards were made with Reverse Confetti sketch #53.
I used the following supplies on these cards:
  • Raisin Boat Night Owl stamp set
  • Raisin Boat All In Toile stamp set
  • Scrapbook.com Black hybrid ink
  • Scrapbook.com Succulent hybrid ink
  • Scrapbook.com Camel hybrid ink (inking around the edge of the owl)
  • colored pencils
  • Brother Scan N Cut (owl and party hat)
  • Scrapbook.com Pink Lemonade hybrid ink
  • Gray, tan, and black Recollections cardstock
  • Twisted Lime Trendy Twine
The third set of cards were made with Reverse Confetti sketch #34.
I used the following supplies on these cards:
  • Raisin Boat Talking In Circles stamp set
  • Scrapbook.com Charcoal hybrid ink
  • Cottage Cutz stitched square die
  • black Recollections cardstock
  • circle punch
  • markers
  • Glossy Accents (on bottom right circles and flower centers)
These baby cards were created with OWH Sketch #154.
I used the following supplies on these cards:
  • Raisin Boat Talking In Circles stamp set
  • Scrapbook.com Daffodil hybrid ink
  • Cottage Cutz scalloped stitched circle die
  • Cottage Cutz stitched circle die
  • black Recollections cardstock
  • Totally Lemon Trendy Twine
  • diaper pin brad
The last cards made from a sketch used OWH sketch #142.
I used the following supplies on these cards:
The following cards were not made with any type of sketch.  I was simply using up the papers I had left from the paper pad.
These fish cards were created using the following additional supplies:
  • Raisin Boat Time Flies stamp set
  • Raisin Boat No Loss For Words stamp set
  • Scrapbook.com Black hybrid ink
  • Scrapbook.com Caribbean hybrid ink (blended with brush)
  • Watercolored fish with Scrapbook.com Succulent, Pink Flamingo, and Sugar Cookie hybrid inks
  • Cottage Cutz stitched rounded rectangle dies
  • black Recollections cardstock
  • white gel pen
  • silver brads
The next two cards each have a different layout, but are similar with their elements.
Supplies used include:
  • Raisin Boat Talking In Circles stamp set
  • Scrapbook.com Succulent hybrid ink
  • GMD double stitched in and out circle die
  • Cottage Cutz scalloped stitched circle die
  • black Recollections cardstock
  • Totally Lemon Trendy Twine
  • Scrapbook.com Charcoal hybrid ink
  • Totally Black Trendy Twine
  • White Pearl Pearl Pen
Supplies for the two butterfly cards include:
  • Raisin Boat No Loss For Words stamp set
  • Scrapbook.com Black hybrid ink
  • Cottage Cutz Kayla Butterfly die
  • Cottage Cutz scalloped stitched circle die
  • label die
  • black, gray, white Recollections cardstock
  • Totally Lemon Trendy Twine
These final four cards really were using up the last of the last scraps!
The Happy Birthday cards supplies include:

The final card supplies include:
Adhesives used on all cards include ATG, foam tape, and Scotch Tacky Glue.  I used up every little bit of those patterned papers.  The last couple scraps were used for embellishments and die cutting.

Whew!  Did you make it all the way through this post?  If so, I hope you are inspired to try something new with your crafting...maybe even crafting your way through a whole paper pad like I did!

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Valentine's Day Duo of Cards

Hello all!  I have been creating for Valentine's day and loving every minute of it!  Beth from Beth's Beauties here with a duo of cards, one of which used the negative space from the die cutting of the other.
This was the first card I created.  I stamped the brush strokes from Raisin Boat's Strokes of Pride stamp set and a stamp platform.  The colors of Scrapbook.com inks I used from top to bottom are:  Pink Flamingo, Candy Shop Pink, Confetti Pink, Mixed Berry, and Cardinal Red.  I flipped the cardstock between each color, so the brush stroke would be reversed from the previous stamping.  I then die cut a heart out of white cardstock and also cut a smaller heart out of the center to create a peek-a-boo for the stamping on the base layer.
At the bottom of the card, I added the LOVE sentiment from the Raisin Boat No Loss For Words stamp set with black ink.  I embellished with Pearl Pen dots in Pearl Pink and Red.  Once those were dry, I mounted the stamped panel onto a black layer, then adhered it to my card base.
The second card is very similar to the first, but as I mentioned earlier, I used the negative white cardstock from the die cutting of first card to create the front of this one.  Once again, I stamped the brush strokes from Raisin Boat's Strokes of Pride stamp set with a stamp platform in the same manner as the first card.  Then I trimmed down the die cut panel so the brush strokes would be visible on the outside of the panel as well as through the heart.
Once again, the bottom of the card was stamped with the LOVE sentiment from the Raisin Boat No Loss For Words stamp set in black ink.  I embellished with Pearl Pen dots in Pearl Pink and Red.  The front panel was popped up with foam tape and the card was complete!

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Pier Scene Card

Hello all and welcome back to another Wednesday!  Beth from Beth's Beauties here. This card was created with the recently restocked Raisin Boat Pier Happiness and No Loss For Words stamp sets.  I really enjoyed creating this scene!
I used several colors of inks on this card, as you can see.  I received new Scrapbook.com hybrid inks for Christmas, and have loved experimenting with them.  First of all, I stamped the pier with Black ink and watercolored it with Cinnamon ink and an aqua brush.  I then filled in the rest of the scene with stamps, starting with the rocks.  Those were stamped with Charcoal ink and watercolored with Rainy Day ink.  The tree was next, being stamped with Pine and Cinnamon inks.
The grass was stamped with Succulent ink and I did some second generation and partial stamping of the grass too.  I added sand stamped with Camel ink and geese flying with Rainy Day ink.  To finish off the sky, I used Daffodil ink to blend a little sunshine in from the top right corner.
The water was created by watercoloring with Postal Blue ink.  I decided I wanted to add a sentiment, so I chose "Thinking of you" from the No Loss For Words stamp set and stamped it in black.  To finish off the scene, I lightly blended Rainy Day ink around the outside edges.  Once I matted it with black and navy cardstock, it was ready to be adhered to a card base.

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Thankful Fall Wreath Card

Hello all!  Beth from Beth's Beauties here with this card today.  I had so much fun using different elements from the Raisin Boat Thankful stamp set to create it.  You can get this stamp set for a steal of a price...only $5.99 and it works for fall and winter!
I used the wreath builder technique on this card with my stamp platform.  I cut a 4" square of white cardstock and stamped the grapevine wreath in the center of it using brown Memento ink.  Then I stamped leaves and berries using Distress Oxides in Peeled Paint, Rusty Hinge, Fossilized Amber, and Fired Brick.  The bow was also stamped in Fired Brick.  The sentiment was the last thing I stamped and that was with the brown Memento ink.  I layered the stamped panel onto printed papers from DCWV's Fall & Halloween Basics stack and added a mustard burlap ribbon along the left side.

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Scattered Leaves Card

Hello crafty friends!  Beth from Beth's Beauties here with this fall card.  The stamp set I used on it is Raisin Boat's Arboretum Leaves and is free with your $50+ order from SumMore Fun through the month of October or it can be purchased for only $5.99.
I started with a piece of kraft cardstock measuring 4"x5.25".  I used Distress Oxide Inks in the following colors to stamp on the kraft:  Aged Mahogany, Fired brick, Rusty Hinge, Spiced Marmalade, Fossilized Amber, Squeezed Lemonade, Walnut Stain, Vintage Photo, Pine Needles, Peeled Paint, and Antique Linen.  On the large stamps, I started with the darker color on my stamp platform, then inked with the lighter color around the edges of the stamp and re-stamped them.  I then spritzed a fine mist of water over it to create the oxidized look.
The sentiment was stamped in VersaFine Onyx Black and matted with 2 other banner strips before securing it to the card front with a brad.  I also added 3 brads among the leaves.  To finish the card, I matted the kraft layer onto yellow and red cardstock for an extra pop of color.  I had a lot of fun incorporating all but one of the stamps from the Arboretum Leaves stamp set into this card!
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Rose Anniversary Card

Hello and happy Wednesday!  Beth from Beth's Beauties here with you today.  This card features the SumMore Fun A Rose By Any Other Name and Raisin Boat Flourishing Thoughts stamp sets.
I started by stamping the corner rose stamp from A Rose By Any Other Name with my stamp platform and VersaMark ink onto Park Lane Roses paper.  I embossed it with white powder and it really made a gorgeous look!  I then added a second rectangle of patterned paper from the same pack in the bottom left corner.
The sentiment from the Flourishing Thoughts stamp set was stamped in black, then die cut around with GMD crochet lace oval dies, as was the black layer. Those were popped up with foam tape, then I added Black Pearl Pen dots around it.

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Fall Wedding Card

Hello and welcome back to another post with Beth from Beth's Beauties!  Today I am sharing this fall wedding card that features Raisin Boat's Growing Love and Springtime Love stamp sets and Distress Oxide Inks.
I created the background by adding several stamps from Growing Love to my stamp platform and using VersaMark and white embossing powder to emboss them.  I chose Distress Oxides in the following fall colors to blend over the embossing:  Fossilized Amber, Rusty Hinge, Peeled Paint, Aged Mahogany, and Walnut Stain.  I splattered water over the background to create lighter drops and once it was dry I did two light coats of Mod Podge Matte acrylic sealer spray to keep the colors from transferring.
The sentiment was from the Springtime Love stamp set and was stamped with Aged Mahogany Distress Oxide and embossed with clear powder.  I die cut around it with a GMD Crochet Lace oval die then layered that with a brown layer die cut from a GMD Slash Stitched oval die.  The oval was adhered to the base with foam tape.  I embellished the card with Tropical Island enamel dots.

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Poppin' By To Say Hi

Hello everyone and happy Wednesday!  Beth from Beth's Beauties here today with this fun popcorn card.  The stamp set used on it is Raisin Boat's Crunch Time.
I stamped all the stamps on white cardstock with Versafine Onyx Black ink using a stamp platform, then watercolored them with Distress Oxide Inks.  The specific colors I used were Squeezed Lemonade, Fossilized Amber, Pumice Stone, and Aged Mahogany.  I added a piece of patterned paper to resemble a tablecloth beneath the popcorn bowl and layered black and yellow cardstock beneath the stamped layer.  The finishing touch was three yellow enamel dots beneath the sentiment.
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Owl Birthday Card

Welcome to another Wednesday!  Beth from Beth's Beauties here today.  I am sharing this fun owl birthday card that features stamps from the Raisin Boat Night Owl stamp set.
Using my stamp platform for accurate placement, I stamped the branch (brown ink), then the owl (black ink) and masked over the owl to stamp the moon (Pumice Stone Distress Oxide).  I then stamped the party hat in green ink on white paper and cut it out with my Brother Scan N Cut and adhered it to the card.  The pom pom was made with Lemon Midnight Trendy Twine.  I stamped the stars with Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide and also added dots of silver Pearl Pen.  The owl was colored with colored pencils and I added glossy accents to the eyes for extra shine.
The bottom of the card has the sentiment, once again from the Night Owl stamp set, which I stamped using black ink.  I die cut around the whole kraft panel with a GMD Wonky Stitched Rectangle die and added three rounds of Lemon Midnight Trendy Twine0 and tied it in a knot.  I adhered that to a layer of black and yellow cardstock and the card was complete!

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!
