Oops a Birthday!

Hello & Happy Thursday Everyone!
DT Theresa here from Theresa's Crafty Creations
and it's my day to take over the blog
YAY for me... 🙌

Today I thought I would share a Lovely Birthday Card -

I took a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 piece of Koh-I-Noor White Bristol
Smooth Watercolor paper and placed it in my Misti tool
and then I pulled out my Static Powder tool and covered
the entire piece with the powder - I grabbed
the Oops a Daisy (10236-Z) Stamp set and my
Versa Mark ink and stamped the Daisy design
in one corner - then I grabbed my Ultra Fine
White Embossing Powder and poured it over
the versamark ink (tapping it to make sure
there was no extra powder laying around) -

At this point, I wasn't going to
heat set it... I planned to stamp this Daisy stamp
2 more times, but wanted to get a good look at where I was placing
my stamp - So it was easier for me to see my image by
stamping it first, then pouring the embossing powder
over it and then moving on to stamping in
another place --

Once I got my Daisies where I wanted them I
heat embossed them - Then I
put the cardstock back in my Misti
because I wanted to add some tiny white
dots to some of the open spots - So, again
I stamped then pour some powder over it
and did this a couple more times before finally
heat setting the tiny white dots --

Once my stamping was completed and I liked
where everything was, I pulled out my
Distress Oxides inks in - Cracked PIstachio,
Peacock Feathers, Broken China, & Salty Ocean
I blended these lovely colors together
over my stamp images - then I took a cloth
and rubbed the color off of my Embossed images

--This is called a resist technique--
Then I dropped a couple of droplets of
water over my blended design and placed
a paper towel over the top to pick up the
water spots I had - At this point I was
loving the look of my card! :) But as you know
I LOVE SPARKLE! So, I sprayed some Sheer
Shimmer Mist Frost Spritz over the top of my design
then pulled out my Heat tool again to make sure
everything was completely dry before getting ready
to die cut -

I used a stitched Rectangle die which cut my
design down to 3 1/4 x 5 - Then I placed a piece
of Fun Foam on the backside of my design
for Dimension, then I was ready to place it
on my Dark Grey Cardbase -

I decided to Die Cut the Word (Happy) from
a die in my stash - using the same grey cardstock
as the base of my card - I die cut it out 3x's and
layered each layer on top of each other for a little
extra dimension -

Then I grabbed the Lovely Happy Birthday (74641-C)
Sentiment Stamp by Victorine Originals
and just used the Birthday part of it -
I stamped it with some Grey Ink on a piece
of white cardstock, then die cut it out with a
banner die in my stash --

I finally added some clear jewels to tie the
whole thing together and I just love it!!!

HOW - TO

  • using detail blending tool blend Distress Oxides - Twisted Citron and Forest Moss in the center of the flowers
  • using colored pencils color the flowers yellow, blue, and pink
  • die-cut colored image using a 4.125" x 5.25" rectangle die
  • add white fun foam to the back and adhere to a 4.25" x 5.5" #110 Neenah Classic Crest Solar White card base
  • stamp sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black Ink onto to #80 Neenah Classic Crest Solar White cardstock, trim down
  • add 3D mounting foam to the back of the sentiment and adhere to card

Hello Friend

Good Morning Dreamerz and Happy Wednesday!!

Today is my day to take over the SumMoreFun Designs Blog.

Here's my inspiration for you using:

Oops a Daisy

Today I want to share my take on a Eclipse Card with you.

Card Recipe:
I first stamped the larger of the 2 daisies in the set on some masking paper then fussy cut it so that I would have a mask that I could not only use for this card but for future projects also.  For the stamped layer I used a piece of Bristol Vellum cut to 5.25 x 4.00. I then took and made a very light pencil mark/line thru the center lengthwise as I wanted the flowers and die cut layer to be as centered as possible. I stamped the largest daisy using my Tim Holtz stamping platform as near to the center as possible using Gray Flannel ink from Memento.  Next I applied the mask of the stamped image and took the smaller of the 2 daisies and positioned it where I wanted and stamped it in the same color ink, to achieve the second daisy I flipped the card 180 degrees and stamped the next daisy. The sentiment was then added using Tangelo ink from Memento. After removing the mask I used a big hello die and die cut the center, I also die cut 4 more times using gray cardstock from my stash that would be used in assembly for the final project. Using Faber Castell watercolor pencils I colored in only the parts of the flowers that were on the die cut letters paying close attention to where the petals from one flower intersected another.  Once I was happy with the colors I assembled the card by gluing down the die cut base to gray cardstock, then I started adding in the layers of gray cardstock on top of each other to build up the word hello, the final step was gluing down the letters I had previously watercolored and adding a tiny yellow/gold rhinestone on the sentiment.
