It's Your Day

Hello - Jeanette here from the design team (and from Cre8tive Play). Thank you for stopping by the blog today!

Beth and I have been showing you some cards we've made with the SumMore Fun Stimulus Package that is available for a limited time. I hope you've been enjoying seeing these cards. I encourage you to check out the Stimulus Package, too. It can be found at the SumMore Fun store  - HERE

For today's card I used four different products from the Stimulus Package...

Designer Paper
Gemini Foil Press (check it out - I made a flower with it)
No Loss for Words stamp set
Washi Tape

I really like the way the flower turned out.

I used a scalloped circle die and cut to make three layers for my flower. A brad holds them in place and then I just gently crinkled it with my fingers.

I added some Washi Tape and a birthday sentiment to the inside of my card, too.

Thanks again for stopping by the blog.

I hope you have SumMore Fun today!

Butterfly Mother's Day Card

Hello all! Beth from Beth's Beauties back with you today. I don't know about you, but Mother's Day really snuck up on me this year. Trying to keep up with homeschooling for three kids and a toddler has really thrown off my card making game LOL! Anyway, I decided to make a couple of these cards to send out quick for Mother's Day this year.
I used the SumMore Fun Stimulus package for the beautiful patterned paper as well as the top sentiment stamp (No Loss For Words stamp set). Other SumMore Fun products used include the butterfly stamp from the RB Imagine setRB Marvelous Mom stamp set (lower sentiment), stamp platform, and glitter Pearl Pen.
For inks, I used Scrapbook.com inks in Caribbean and Mermaid for the butterfly and Versafine Onyx Black for the sentiments. I used my Brother Scan N Cut to cut around the butterfly then mounted it on a small doily die cut. Before adding that to the card with foam tape, I glued some wraps of Tickled with Teal Trendy Twine to the card for a little extra visual interest.
Let's take a closer look at EVERYTHING you get in the SumMore Fun Stimulus Package...
Here is an image of what I received, but yours will vary somewhat:
No Loss for Words -photopolymer stamp set
6 -4.25" x 5.5" 100lb card stock card bases
2- 4.25" x 5.5" 100lb card stock frames
2- 4.25" x 5.5" 100lb card stock Happy Birthday Frames
2- 4.25" x 5.5" 100lb card stock Thank You Frames
1 Pearl Pen (random color)
5 Wobbles -regular size
2 -5" x 8" Acetate sheets
2 -5" x 8" Chipboard
Lots of various sheets of cardstock (5" x 8" sheets)
Washi Tape -(random designs)
Lots of other goodies!
Basically, we are going to take a small Priority Mail box and fill it to the brim with fun stuff. There could be stickers, baker's twine, cling mounted red rubber stamps, latex embellishments, resin embellishments, dies, ink and more. We're filling these boxes with a retail value far above and beyond the $29.99 price.

No extra shipping. Just a box full of fun!

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Fluttering By to Wish You a Happy Birthday

Hello - Jeanette here from the design team (and from Cre8tive Play). Thank you for stopping by the blog today!

Beth and I have been showing you some cards we've made with the SumMore Fun Stimulus Package that is available for a limited time. I hope you've been enjoying seeing these cards. I encourage you to check out the Stimulus Package, too. It can be found at the SumMore Fun store  - HERE.

For today's card I used a few of the items I received in my Stimulus Package (packages are similar, but not exactly alike).

I really liked this particular piece of designer paper that was included in the package (there are several different ones included) so I used it as the focal part of my card. I used one of the stamps in the package to add some circles of color. I also used two sentiments from the No Loss for Words stamp set that is in the package to make this into a birthday card.

The final touch was to add some of the square rhinestones (also in the package) to the body of the larger butterfly.

Thanks again for stopping by the blog today!

Unicorn Spit Best Wishes Card

Hello all!  Beth from Beth's Beauties here.  Have you heard about the "Stimulus Package" that SumMore Fun is currently offering?  It is a box FULL of crafty goodness which includes one of the stamp sets I used on my 5x7" card for today called Raisin Boat No Loss For Words.  The other stamp set I used on this card features that gorgeous rose stamp and is called SMF Sundri's A Rose By Any Other Name.
Here is a close look at the stamped sentiment from the No Loss For Words set.  This is just one of the 22 sentiments on that set.  I stamped it on watercolor paper with Versafine Onyx Black ink then heat embossed with a Pearl White powder that gave it a silverish metallic look.  It is very pretty in person!  I also stamped the rose from Sundri's A Rose By Any Other Name using the same technique.
Let's talk about the colors you see on the watercolor paper!  Those beauties are the Sparkling Unicorn Spit samples.  I took a paintbrush and added some Unicorn Spit to my glass craft mat, sprayed some water on it, then tapped my paper into it over and over with gold, green, blue, and purple.  There is so much shimmer in the Sparkling Unicorn Spit!  If you look closely in the top right corner of the image below, you can see some of that shine.  I also did paint parts of the stamped image with straight Sparkling Unicorn Spit.  I matted the stamped panel with solid colored cardstocks. To finish off the card, I added three glitter enamel dots. Normally, I would have used Pearl Pen, but this was a last minute card that didn't have time to dry, so pre-made dots it was!
Let's take a closer look at EVERYTHING you get in the SumMore Fun Stimulus Package...

A Simple Card

Hello - Jeanette here from the design team (and from Cre8tive Play). Thank you for stopping by the blog today! Let me warn you, though, today's blog post is not like most of the posts you'll find on this site. Normally, we focus on the amazing stamps from the SumMore Fun store (Victorine Originals and Raisin Boat) For good reason! The stamps are amazing! And fear not, today's card does have a stamped sentiment on it. However, today's card is extremely simple for a very good reason.

If you're like me, you've watched almost in horror as our world has been battered  by the current pandemic. It is frightening. So many people are suffering and not just those who have the COVID-19. The medical staff who again and again put themselves at risk. The truck drivers who keep working so shelves can be restocked, etc. The parents who are now becoming the main educators of their children. Those in nursing homes and care centers who are no longer allowed visitors.

It. is. heartbreaking.

Then in just the past two or three days I've heard of care centers that are asking for cards to be sent to the residents to help combat the loneliness. Yesterday, the Skilled Nursing wing at our small town hospital also made a request for cards. An encouraging word can mean a lot to those who are alone. So I got to work. I prepared 50 cards to donate - some I mailed to another state/facility and some I put in the hands of our local Skilled Nursing facility. i had a stash of cards, yes, but I also needed more. So I made simple cards - that I could put together quickly. I chose cheerful colors and simple words. My goal: make cards that will bring smiles to those who receive them.

I used a simple sentiment from the Raisin Boat No Loss for Words stamp set on my card.

It literally only took me 10 minutes to make it. There's nothing fancy about it at all. I wrote a "generic" note inside, after all, I don't know who will receive it. I then placed it in a clear envelope - that way the staff can see what they are giving to the patient.

It was a small thing to do. But it was something I could do.

What will you do? What can we all do? Help one another. Look out for our neighbors. Be kind to those working so hard in the stores so we'll have what we need. Offer a kind word.

Think of others and let them know we care.

Thanks again for stopping by!

Cherry Blossom Cards

Hello and welcome to another Wednesday with Beth from Beth's Beauties!  I don't know about you, but I definitely have spring fever!  These cards use the exact same stamp sets that I used for last week's card, the Raisin Boat Cherry Blossom and No Loss For Words stamp sets.  I was having so much fun with this layout, I created 4 cards with the same style.
Here is a close up of one of the cards.  I will describe the process I followed to create these cards.  First of all, I used a sharp scissors to snip apart the large stamp from the Raisin Boat Cherry Blossom set.  I isolated the blossoms from the greenery so I could stamp the colors separately.  I laid the stamps out where I wanted them on the cardstock panel and placed it in my stamp platform.  I removed the flower stamps then only stamped the green areas with Olive ink.  I did that 4 times for all the cards before removing the greenery stamps and adding the flowers to the stamp platform.  For the flowers, I covered them with the lighter ink and stamped.  Then I added the darker ink just around the edges of the flowers and re-stamped creating the two-tone effect.
At the bottom of the card, I stamped the sentiment from the No Loss For Words set in black ink.  Then I wrapped Trendy Twine around the white area, also adding a bow.  The final touch was a few enamel dots.  I then added the stamped panel to a scalloped rectangle die cut in a coordinating color before adding it all to the card base.
The specific supplies I used for these cards are as follows:

Purple:
  • SB.com inks- Parisian Purple, Mardi Gras, Olive, Black
  • Grape Fizz Trendy Twine
  • Purple Trio enamel dots
  • purple cardstock
Pink:
  • SB.com inks- Pink Flamingo, Confetti Pink, Olive, Black
  • Raspberry Cupcake Trendy Twine
  • Unicorn Sparkle enamel dots
  • bright pink cardstock

Coral:
  • SB.com inks- Pink Lemonade, Havana Red, Olive, Black
  • Posy Trendy Twine
  • Watermelon enamel dots
  • coral cardstock
Yellow:
  • SB.com inks- Rubber Ducky, Daffodil, Olive, Black
  • Totally Lemon Trendy Twine
  • Mai Tai enamel dots
  • yellow cardstock

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Rainbow Floral Birthday Card

Hello and welcome back to another Wednesday post with Beth's Beauties!  I don't know about you, but I definitely have spring fever and have been making lots of bright and spring themed projects lately.  This card uses the Raisin Boat Cherry Blossom and No Loss For Words stamp sets.
The other necessary tool to create this card was a stamp platform.  I cut a piece of cardstock and found the middle, then positioned the floral stamp just to one side of the center line.  As you can see, I alternated the direction of the stamp...but really, all I did was flip the paper end for end each time I stamped.  Very simple with a stamp platform!  The colors of SB.com inks I used include: Confetti Pink, Orange Spice, Daffodil, Succulent, Mermaid, Mardi Gras plus Black was used for the sentiment which was from the RB No Loss For Words stamp set.  I matted the floral panel with black cardstock, added a few sequins and the card was done!
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

32 Cards From One 6x6 Paper Pad

Raise your hand if you are completely in awe of Kristie Marcotte and her ability to power through entire 6x6 paper pads...yeah me too!  Beth from Beth's Beauties here today I decided to embrace that challenge for myself!  It wasn't easy and took me three days off and on to finish the paper pad, but I ended up with these 32 cards.
I used the My Mind's Eye My Favorite Things 6x6 paper pad.  I have had it floating around in my craft room for quite some time.  I picked it because it had both masculine and feminine papers in it.  I will say that I should have been more selective because some of the papers were geared more towards scrapbooking and that left me with only side of paper to use with those sheets.  However, it didn't stop me :)
In true Kristie style, I started with some card sketches.  This first set of cards were made with Reverse Confetti sketch #32.
I used the following supplies on these cards:
  • Raisin Boat Talking in Circles stamp set (only $3.99 right now!)
  • Scrapbook.com Pine hybrid ink
  • Scrapbook.com Pink Lemonade hybrid ink
  • Cottage Cutz stitched circle dies
  • brads
  • brown and coral Recollections cardstock
  • flower

The second set of cards were made with Reverse Confetti sketch #53.
I used the following supplies on these cards:
  • Raisin Boat Night Owl stamp set
  • Raisin Boat All In Toile stamp set
  • Scrapbook.com Black hybrid ink
  • Scrapbook.com Succulent hybrid ink
  • Scrapbook.com Camel hybrid ink (inking around the edge of the owl)
  • colored pencils
  • Brother Scan N Cut (owl and party hat)
  • Scrapbook.com Pink Lemonade hybrid ink
  • Gray, tan, and black Recollections cardstock
  • Twisted Lime Trendy Twine
The third set of cards were made with Reverse Confetti sketch #34.
I used the following supplies on these cards:
  • Raisin Boat Talking In Circles stamp set
  • Scrapbook.com Charcoal hybrid ink
  • Cottage Cutz stitched square die
  • black Recollections cardstock
  • circle punch
  • markers
  • Glossy Accents (on bottom right circles and flower centers)
These baby cards were created with OWH Sketch #154.
I used the following supplies on these cards:
  • Raisin Boat Talking In Circles stamp set
  • Scrapbook.com Daffodil hybrid ink
  • Cottage Cutz scalloped stitched circle die
  • Cottage Cutz stitched circle die
  • black Recollections cardstock
  • Totally Lemon Trendy Twine
  • diaper pin brad
The last cards made from a sketch used OWH sketch #142.
I used the following supplies on these cards:
The following cards were not made with any type of sketch.  I was simply using up the papers I had left from the paper pad.
These fish cards were created using the following additional supplies:
  • Raisin Boat Time Flies stamp set
  • Raisin Boat No Loss For Words stamp set
  • Scrapbook.com Black hybrid ink
  • Scrapbook.com Caribbean hybrid ink (blended with brush)
  • Watercolored fish with Scrapbook.com Succulent, Pink Flamingo, and Sugar Cookie hybrid inks
  • Cottage Cutz stitched rounded rectangle dies
  • black Recollections cardstock
  • white gel pen
  • silver brads
The next two cards each have a different layout, but are similar with their elements.
Supplies used include:
  • Raisin Boat Talking In Circles stamp set
  • Scrapbook.com Succulent hybrid ink
  • GMD double stitched in and out circle die
  • Cottage Cutz scalloped stitched circle die
  • black Recollections cardstock
  • Totally Lemon Trendy Twine
  • Scrapbook.com Charcoal hybrid ink
  • Totally Black Trendy Twine
  • White Pearl Pearl Pen
Supplies for the two butterfly cards include:
  • Raisin Boat No Loss For Words stamp set
  • Scrapbook.com Black hybrid ink
  • Cottage Cutz Kayla Butterfly die
  • Cottage Cutz scalloped stitched circle die
  • label die
  • black, gray, white Recollections cardstock
  • Totally Lemon Trendy Twine
These final four cards really were using up the last of the last scraps!
The Happy Birthday cards supplies include:

The final card supplies include:
Adhesives used on all cards include ATG, foam tape, and Scotch Tacky Glue.  I used up every little bit of those patterned papers.  The last couple scraps were used for embellishments and die cutting.

Whew!  Did you make it all the way through this post?  If so, I hope you are inspired to try something new with your crafting...maybe even crafting your way through a whole paper pad like I did!

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Thinking of You

Hello - Jeanette here from the design team (and from Cre8tive Play). Thank you for stopping by the blog today!

I love designer paper. I almost always use it on my cards. But not today. Today I chose to only use bright/bold cardstock. And an uncolored image, too (*gasp). Unheard of, right?

The horse image is from the Raisin Boat Giddy Up! stamp set.

The Thinking of you sentiment is from the Raisin Boat No Loss for Words stamp set.

Thanks again for stopping by!

I hope you have SumMore Fun today!

Valentine's Day Duo of Cards

Hello all!  I have been creating for Valentine's day and loving every minute of it!  Beth from Beth's Beauties here with a duo of cards, one of which used the negative space from the die cutting of the other.
This was the first card I created.  I stamped the brush strokes from Raisin Boat's Strokes of Pride stamp set and a stamp platform.  The colors of Scrapbook.com inks I used from top to bottom are:  Pink Flamingo, Candy Shop Pink, Confetti Pink, Mixed Berry, and Cardinal Red.  I flipped the cardstock between each color, so the brush stroke would be reversed from the previous stamping.  I then die cut a heart out of white cardstock and also cut a smaller heart out of the center to create a peek-a-boo for the stamping on the base layer.
At the bottom of the card, I added the LOVE sentiment from the Raisin Boat No Loss For Words stamp set with black ink.  I embellished with Pearl Pen dots in Pearl Pink and Red.  Once those were dry, I mounted the stamped panel onto a black layer, then adhered it to my card base.
The second card is very similar to the first, but as I mentioned earlier, I used the negative white cardstock from the die cutting of first card to create the front of this one.  Once again, I stamped the brush strokes from Raisin Boat's Strokes of Pride stamp set with a stamp platform in the same manner as the first card.  Then I trimmed down the die cut panel so the brush strokes would be visible on the outside of the panel as well as through the heart.
Once again, the bottom of the card was stamped with the LOVE sentiment from the Raisin Boat No Loss For Words stamp set in black ink.  I embellished with Pearl Pen dots in Pearl Pink and Red.  The front panel was popped up with foam tape and the card was complete!

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!
