Poinsettia Merry Christmas Card

Hello and Happy December!  Beth from Beth's Beauties here with this elegant Christmas card that uses two Raisin Boat stamp sets, Dear Santa and Merry Nature.
The poinsettia and pinecones from Dear Santa were stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink and watercolored with Distress Inks.  After they were dry, I cut them out with my Scan N Cut.  The sentiment is from the Merry Nature stamp set and is also stamped in VF Onyx Black.  The other items I used to create this card include GMD scalloped stitched rectangle dies, GMD Floral Frame dies, paper from TPS Rustic Noel, ATG, Foam tape, and red Pearl Pen.

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Owl Wish You a Happy Birthday

Hello - Jeanette here from the design team (and from Cre8tive Play). I'm so glad you've stopped by the blog today. I have a birthday card to share with you today. I used two different Raisin Boat stamp sets to make it. The tree is from the Merry Nature set.

Look at the details on the stamped tree:

It's a beautiful tree!

The sentiment is from the Raisin Boat No Limits stamp set. Be sure to check out these two stamp sets as well as other things in the SumMore Fun store. Most items are currently significantly reduced in price.

Using Cardboard Is SumMore Fun!

Hello, Jeanette here from the design team with a card to share with you.

I ordered a couple of books and they arrived this week I looked at the corrugated cardboard they came in and thought to myself... Useful? Sure! Why not!

So I tore and tore and tore a piece to get the size I wanted, making sure to see  bit of ruggedness, too. Then I taped it into my stamping platform using Washi Tape (since it was too thick for the magnets to work)... and I stamped the tree from the Raisin Boat Winter Heart and Sole stamp set onto that piece of cardboard.

I kind of like the way it looks!

I stamped the ice skates onto 110# white cardstock so they would be sturdy enough to pop up with foam tape. The heart is a brad - it worked fine since it had longer posts, not wee short ones like some brads have.

I wanted to do something with the inside of my card, too, so I took a similar (yet taller) tree from the Raisin Boat Merry Nature stamp set and stamped it on the inside.

I hope you'll look at things around you (like cardboard) in new ways - thinking of ways to use them in your card-making. It's fun, creative, and maybe even a wee bit eco-friendly, too.

Have a GREAT day!

Pine Tree Silhouette Card

Good Morning!  Beth from Beth's Beauties here with you today.  The card I am sharing with you uses their Raisin Boat Merry Nature stamp set.
I started out by stamping the trees and the sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black ink and embossing it with WOW White Pearl embossing powder.  It makes such a beautiful pearly silver look!  Then I used Distress Oxide inks in Faded Jeans, Broken China, and Black Soot to blend in a winter night look.
I splashed water on the background, making the Distress Oxides lift a bit, then added dots of liquid applique so it looked like snow.  I mounted the stamped rectangle onto a scalloped rectangle die cut in black and the card was complete!

Remember, we have a monthly challenge going on right right now in the SumMore Fun Creations Facebook group!

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Marvelous Nature

Hello, Jeanette here from the design team. I'm glad you've stopped by today.

As soon as I saw the Raisin Boat Merry Nature stamp set I fell in love with the beautiful Birch Tree stamp. There is just something about the bark of those trees that fascinates me and this stamp captures that look beautifully.

To achieve the look I wanted, I actually stamped the tree on a piece of scrap paper and fussy cut the trunk of the tree out to use as  mask when sponging the background. The hillside was sponged with Ranger Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink and the sky was sponged with Ranger Stormy Sky and Tumbled Glass Distress Inks. Once my sponging was complete, I stamp the beautiful quote from Aristotle and the little sparkles in the sky. A squirrel brad completed the look.

This closeup view shows the beautiful script of the quote:

Be sure to head to the SumMore Fun store where many of the stamps/products are marked down in price, like the Merry Nature stamp set I used for today's card.

DIY Designer Paper This Christmas

Hello, Jeanette here from the design team. I'm so glad you've stopping by the blog today. If you love Christmas, you're at the right place. In fact, SumMore Fun Creations on Facebook is having a Christmas Challenge this month, so why not ink up (or use a digital image) from any of the SumMore Fun stamps and join in the fun. Someone is going to win a prize. It might as well be you!

I love designer paper! I have a lot of it, too. BUT... sometimes it is fun to create your own designer paper. I used the Victorine Originals Snowflake Ornament stamp (over and over again) to create the fun background on my card.

The tree on my card is the Victorine Originals Swirl Christmas Tree stamp.
The Merry Christmas is from the Raisin Boat Merry Nature stamp set.

The pictures really don't do this card justice. I used Shimmer White paper so the card glistens, but in the photos it makes look kind of dull. I'm sorry! Maybe you can get a better idea by looking at a closeup.

Thanks again for stopping by. Have a great day and don't forget about the Christmas Challenge at SumMore Fun Creations.

Not Just a Tree

Hello, Jeanette here from the design team. Something you might not know about me: I like to think outside the box. I like to try new things. I like to surprise people. It's all part of my creative nature.

So, when I saw the gorgeous Raisin Boat Merry Nature stamp set my mind started thinking of other ways to use it.

What do you see in this picture? I see two gorgeous trees, an evergreen and a birch. I see a couple of quotes and some sentiments. And... Yes, wait for it.

I see some branches. If you put that evergreen tree on its side, why not? Then it's the perfect place to hang the gorgeous Victorine Original Snowflake Ornament. Am I right?

I will admit that I tried stamped the Merry Christmas directly onto the Gingham DP. A word to the wise. That did not work. So what's a girl to do? Throw the card - the nearly finished card (gasp!) - in the trash. Definitely not. I simply stamped the sentiment onto a white piece of CS and sponged Antique Linen ink around the edges to match the sponging on the image piece and then I adhered it right on top of the Merry Christmas that didn't look very good on the DP.

I added a rhinestone to the center of the ornament and wanted to add some balance to the card, so I also added a few of the rhinestones in the lower left corner as well.

You might also notice that there is just a partial bit of black showing below the red striped DP. That is not a mistake; that was intentional. Just another little creative tweak to this particular card.

I hope you liked my card.

Thanks for stopping by today!
