Merry Mixed Media Christmas Cards

Mixed Media Christmas Cards

Hello and Happy Tuesday everyone, my name is Nancy  I am honoured to be a guest designer for December and January.
Little about me, I design for a Canadian Online store, as well as sell my own cards. I am also a mom to 3 year old boy/girl twins.  My daughter shares my passion for all things artsy.  She even has her own stamps and always sneaks into my crafty space to play (not always happy about that).

Today's project I am sharing is a mixed media card featuring the Swirly Christmas Tree and the  Merry Nature set

Swirl Christmas Tree (74820-E)Merry Nature (10286-Z)

I started by stamping out the swirly tree with white gesso onto a kraft tag.
Once it was dry I went in with Lucky clover, mowed lawn and pine needles distress oxides.

To get that layered look, I did two layers of each colour.  After the first I spritzed with water and dried with a heat tool.  Then I went back in with more ink.  I spritzed the second layer using gold perfect pearls to add some shimmer.

I set the tag aside to dry and worked on the rest of the card, which is pretty simple.  I decided that I really wanted to make the Swirly Christmas  tree the focal point, so I stamped it out a few time.  Twice onto velum and heat set with gold embossing powder, and the third onto heavy card stock using the pine needles distress oxides.  Also I used a background stamp to add some fine texture to them.

I fussy cut them out and added to the tag using some vellum in the background to ground it.  I popped up the green tree . I stamped out the Merry Christmas onto a stitched banner using the sentiment from the Merry Nature set.  To finish off the tag portion I added some sparkly twine from my stash, as well as went around the edges with gold ink.

I created an A2 card and die cut some white card stock using a scallop rectangle die.  I cut some gold foil to be just slightly smaller than the base, which I then ran through my die cutting machine with a Christmas embossing folder just to add a little extra something.
With everything cut and stamped it was time to layer it all together and add some bling just to finish it off.

I do apologize if this is long winded.  I really tried hard to keep it short and sweet lol, but I seem to fail miserably, ha ha.

Thank you for stoping by.
Head on over to the shop and check out all the amazing products.
