Happy Birthday Monkey!!

Hello & Happy Thursday Everyone!
DT Theresa here from Theresa's Crafty Creations
and it's my day to take over the blog -- YAY for me... 😃

Today I thought I would share a Birthday
Card I made for a Teacher at School --

I got real inky making this card -- I'm using the ADORABLE
Monkeying Around Stamp set by Raisin Boat

Here's how I made it --

I started by Stamping the Monkey Image in Memento Rich Cocoa ink
Then I stamped the second monkey on some masking paper - then cut it out
I covered my Brown monkey with the masking paper then
proceeded to stamp the Balloon strings in Memento Tuxedo Black ink
I wanted them to overlap in my monkey's hand

Then I stamped my balloons in Memento Teal Zeal, & Lulu Lavender
Then in Hero Arts Soft Pink, & Ultra Pink
I made masks for my Balloons as well
because I wanted to create the cloud background --

Once everything was masked off -- I pulled out my
Distress Inks in Tumbled Glass, Broken China, & Faded Jeans
then I grabbed my Mini Cloud Stencil
I worked from the top down, using the darkest color first
and I kept rotating my stencil so my clouds would
be different on each row --

Once I finished stenciling, I sprayed my card design with some
Frost Shimmer Spritz Spray and dabbed it up with a paper towel
Then I used my Heat tool to dry my card piece completely
after it was dried I pulled the mask pieces up to reveal
my images --

I felt my Balloons and Monkey needed SPARKLE
since I was giving this to a female teacher -
So I pulled out some of my Spectrum Noir Sparkle
Pens in Rose Quartz, Pink Garnet, Inspired Violet, & Blue Topaz
and colored up the balloons with them --
Then I used my Clear Wink of Stella pen on my Monkey

I used my Black Micron Pen on the balloon strings, just so they
would POP more --- After I was happy with my design
I die cut it out with a Stitched Rectangle die -
Giving me a 3 1/4 x 4 1/2 card piece

I triple tied some Pink Twine and attached it by the
monkey hand with some Multi Medium glue --
Then attached my card piece to a piece of Fun Foam
so it would give it more dimension --

I found a matching Pink Cardstock piece - And die cut
a Scalloped Stitched Die with it
Then I attached the pink Scallop to my White card base
I added my Monkey design to my card base and then
I Die cut a Stitched Banner and stamped
the Happy Birthday Sentiment
Attached it to my card front and that was it!!

Happy Birthday #3

Good Morning and Happy Wednesday!!

Today is my day to take over the SumMoreFun Designs Blog.

Here's my inspiration for you using:

Happy Birthday 2871
and
Backgrounds Set

Today I want to share a fast and easy Birthday card with you.  The whole month I will be doing Birthday cards.

Card Recipe:
Using a piece of Neenah 80lb white card stock I stamped the Background Set/Stick Splatter all over the paper using versamark to which I applied WOW Clear Gloss super fine embossing powder and heat set I then applied Distress ink In Peacock Feathers to the whole panel. I then used versamark to stamp the Happy Birthday and applied WOW Clear Gloss super fine embossing powder and heat set. Distress Ink was once again used in Wilted Violet.  That cute little bow was die cut using a piece of scrap card stock that I distress inked with Peacock Feathers lightly. I glued the bow to the bottom of the balloon die cut layer and affixed a heart enamel dot this gives a nice little touch of sparkle to the bow.  I added a layer of foam to the backside of the balloon layer and glued it to the top of the splatter panel.  Finally the whole thing was attached to a piece of Neenah 110lb card stock cut to A2 size side fold card.

One Layer Happy Birthday

Hello everyone & happy Saturday,

Heather here and today I am taking over the SumMore Fun/ Victorine Originals Blog and have a quick and fun one layer Happy Birthday card to share with some fabulous images.
I started with a folded A2 sized white card and along the bottom I stamped the Festively Wrapped Gift (1586-B) using Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks in Candied Apple, Wild Honey, Fossilized Amber, Lucky Clover and Broken China.  I then used my Spectrum Noir Shimmer Glitter Gloss pen and drew out a bit of the color on the bows with the glitter and added some Studio Katia Shimmering Crystals in the smallest size on the bow knots .

I stamped the Happy Birthday (2871-H) in Hero Arts Soft Lilac Shadow Ink and finished the card off with some lilac colored sequins from my stash around the sentiment.  This card while quick and easy packs a lot of shimmer and that sentiment is just so pretty I feel it should take center stage.

Please feel free to join in on our current challenge, it is a fun one and we would love to see your projects! Links to the challenge and stamps I used are below.

Crunch Time + Background Stamping

Hi and welcome back! It's me again. Lisa, from The Relativity of Paper, and I'm taking over the blog and sharing four fun cards with punny sentiments and stamped backgrounds.

Pull up a chair and grab some coffee, let's chat about creating backgrounds. I absolutely love creating backgrounds for my cards because it lets me coordinate my way. Don't get me wrong, I am all about patterned paper, love the stuff. It's so fun and relaxing to grab the stamps and inks and just have at it sometimes.

For the cards above I used Victorine Originals Popcorn stamp and Memento Ink Dandelion.  I start with a 5.5" x 8.5" piece of #110 Neenah cardstock this gives me two backgrounds. A stamp positioning tool makes fast work of this process plus allows repeat stamping. Randomly stamp your image filling the piece of paper.

To create the background below I used Victorine Originals Double Take Ice Cream and Distress Oxide Inks in Candied Apple, Picked Raspberry, Worn Lipstick, and Peacock Feathers to stamp the scoop of ice cream. I also went back in with a small heart stamp, Raisin Boat Love Letters stamp set, and Distress Oxide Ink in Iced Spruce because I'm using this particular card for Valentine's Day. CA-ute! I should probably tell you that I adhered the backgrounds using fun foam onto a 4.25" x 5.5" top-fold card base and that you can cut your backgrounds using a paper trimmer or die-cuts. I used Hero Arts Rectangle Dies, no stitching, no piercing, just nice, clean, crisp edges. Ah, LOVE!

Once I finished the backgrounds I moved onto the Popcorn and Float image from the Raisin Boat Crunch Time stamp set, stamping them with Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black and coloring with COPICS. No fussy coloring with the images this go-round, these are meant to be fun and whimsical. Now you can fussy cut the images but I'm not about NO fussy cutting. So, I used my new Brother Scan N Cut. (This is where I tell you to join in the current challenge using Something New. A new technique, new product, new style.)

Finish off by stamping the sentiments with Versafine Onyx Black Ink, my favorite ink, add 3D mounting foam to the back of the cut images to adhere to the front of the card, add a few enamel dots, and you are done. Ready to make more backgrounds? I know I am.

As always thanks for joining us. We look forward to seeing your projects linked up.

Toile Birthday Cards

Good morning!  Beth from Beth's Beauties here with you today.  The cards I am sharing with you use stamps from Raisin Boat's All In Toile stamp set.  In fact, I used all but two of the stamps in that set on each card!
I used white cardstock to stamp on and positioned the Toile stamps on my stamp positioning tool to make duplication and stamp quality easy.  The first color I went with was red.  Then I decided I wanted to create a fun purple, and last a traditional blue toile.
I also used my stamp positioning tool for the sentiment.  That stamp is also from the All In Toile stamp set.  I added pieces of silver doily and a narrow strip of black cardstock between the two stamped areas.
The embellishments I used include black Nuvo Crystal Drops and Trendy Twine in coordinating colors.  The white cardstock layer was matted with black and a cardstock that matched the ink color.
Remember, we have this Mood Board Challenge going on right now! Here is the inspiration photo for it.  Just try or use something new.
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Hello from the Heart

Good morning, Sharon from Mollie Moo's Crafty Place taking over the blog today. This cold weather looks as though it is in for the duration of winter here so I thought I'd brighten up the day with some flowers.

These little flowers and sentiment are from the Brush Floral set. I stamped the flowers using aqua markers and fussy cut them, there are plenty of other flowers and leaves among the set but I wanted a simple look. I added white enamel dots to the centers and shaped them before adding them to my wreath. my white card base was matted with 2 shades of purple card. and I adhered the wreath and flowers in place. My sentiment, stamped with purple ink on white card, was also matted with purple and added slightly under one of the flowers. A few purple enamels completed my design.

The Flowers Say Sentiment is also available as a stand alone stamp and would make a great addition to a sentiment collection if you didn't want the flowers

Don't forget our moodboard challenge is try something new this time - we all have new stash, new ideas or want to try new techniques so it's an easy one to start the year!

With deepest sympathy

While I enjoy making cards, I can't say that I really enjoy the act of making sympathy cards when a good friend has lost a loved one.
I received some fun new crafting supplies for Christmas, including the perfect Raisin Boat stamp set for making cards of all occasions! That helped make the process a little more enjoyable, at least.
Our current mood board is all about trying something new, so I gave that a whirl as well with these sympathy cards. I actually made nine, but I'll save the rest to share with you another time.

My fellow design team members have been showcasing distress oxide inks, so I made a purchase for myself and had a blast watching YouTube videos and then trying my own hand at all the techniques.
For this card, I tried a new technique where you emboss wax paper and then iron it onto a piece of cardstock. My attempt didn't work out the best (maybe because I tried using my laminator instead of my iron), but I am in LOVE with this card.

After you iron the embossed wax paper onto your cardstock, you are then able to ink it and it will bring out the design onto your cardstock. If you look very closely at my card, you can see a little bit of the design. Using the distress oxide inks, I blended together a pretty background, spritzed with some water and heat set it.
Then, I used a glitter pen and colored the whole surface.

To finish off my card, I got out the beautiful Victorine Originals Floral & Sayings set. I didn't want my flower to be too stark on my card, so I stamped it in white pigment ink, then I embossed it with an opalescent embossing powder. It looks so pretty! I added the With Sympathy sentiment and embossed it as well.
Have you tried something new lately in your crafting space? Join in our SumMore Fun mood board challenge! You don't have to use a specific stamp, and you have a chance to win awesome prizes! Check out all the rules here.

Sending Warm Wishes...

Hello & Happy Thursday Everyone!
DT Theresa here from Theresa's Craft Creations
and it's my day to take over the blog!!
YAY for me... 🙌

Today I thought I would share a Wintry Card
I made to send to a crafty friend --

Even though Christmas is over, it's still nice to get HAPPY MAIL!
Especially now the Cold Winter months are setting in
for a lot of people - I'm sure this card will PERK her right
up and hopefully take her mind off the COLD Outside!!
Even for a little while! (wink wink)

I'm using a dark Grey Card base and a piece of DCWV Designer
paper that I had in my scrap pile --

I pulled a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolor paper out and
stamped it with The POSTCARD STAMP, then I
Stamped the SNOWMAN WITH HAT STAMP --
I used Onyx Black Versafine ink --

I wanted to make a snowy scene behind the snowman, so I masked off
my Snowman and used the TINY DOTTED BACKGROUND
stamp for a snow effect -- Then I colored my
snowman with some Zig Real Brush Pens

I decided to just write my own sentiment on the front
since this IS a "PostCard" style card! LOL

And then I added some Gems & Snowflakes to give it
a soft, girly vibe --
