First Communion Card

Happy Wednesday!  Beth from Beth's Beauties here with you today.  This card was made for my nephew who received his First Holy Communion this past Sunday.  Do you know how hard it is to find stamps that fit that occasion??  Victorine Originals to the rescue!
The grapes and wheat (Communion) stamp was stamped on watercolor paper using Versafine Onyx Black ink and my Hampton Art Stamp Perfect.  I then cut it out with a GMD slash stitched round square die and watercolored it with Tim Holtz Distress Inks.  The colors I used were Antique Linen (wheat), Seedless Preserves (grapes), Vintage Photo (wheat tie and grape stem), Old Paper (leaf), and then I blended Salty Ocean around the outside of the die cut.
The background was DCWV 6x6 Gold Foil paper cut with GMD scalloped stitched rectangle die and the banner was from DCWV's 6x6 Brights cardstock stack.  I used Totally Kraft Trendy Twine and Nuvo Crystal Drops in black and white for embellishments.
The rest of the story is that I made a different version of this stamped panel in which I used the blue distress ink to watercolor in the entire background.  I thought I liked the one on the right better, so that is the one I gave to my nephew.  What is your opinion?  Do you prefer the one on the right or the left?
Here is a close up of the Communion stamp that I used.

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Purple Floral Thank You Card & SALE!

Hello all!  Beth from Beth's Beauties here with you today, and I have a purple floral thank you card to share with you.  I used Victorine Originals' Floral and Sayings stamp set to create it.  That set has to be one of my all time favorites!

I started out by die cutting a stitched rectangle die from white cardstock.  I stamped the large flower with versamark at the bottom of the square, making sure only the area above the top line on the stamp was on the cardstock.  I heat embossed it using white embossing powder.  Rotate paper 180 degrees and repeat the same process using the smaller flower stamp from the Floral and Sayings stamp set.
I used Seedless Preserves Distress Ink to blend the beautiful purple color over the top of the white embossed areas.  When done blending, use a paper towel and wipe the excess ink off of the embossing.

I heat embossed the Thank You sentiment on a vellum flag, which I attached with a staple to the card front.  I popped that panel up with Scotch foam tape for dimension.  The patterned paper is from Recollections' Modern Bouquet stack.
Here is a look at the stamps that I used:

Vintage Sewing Machine Card

Happy Friday!  Beth from Beth's Beauties with you and today I am back with another card that uses a vintage sewing stamp from Victorine Originals.
Believe me when I say, the Sewing Set stamps called out to me!  How could I resist that antique Singer sewing machine?  One summer when our family's sewing machine was not working, I used my Grandma's treadle sewing machine to make a dress,  Oh the memories!
All of the papers I used are from DCWV's Minty Lace stack.  I thought they coordinated with the stamp perfectly!  I also used stitched rectangle dies from Gina Marie Designs and the stamped panel was die cut with a Cottage Cutz Stitched Square die.  I used a doily (from a retired My Craft Spot die), crinkle seam binding, corsage pins, buttons, artist safety pin and charm for embellishments.
Here is a look at the Sewing Set stamps.  Look at all the stamps that you get on that 6"x7.5" set!
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day and a blessed Easter weekend!

Lighthouse Birthday Card

Happy Tuesday!  Beth from Beth's Beauties with you today.  I have already featured a couple other nautical stamp sets from Victorine Originals on my blog HERE and HERE.

My card today features a different Nautical stamp set, from Mirkwood Designs.  I started with a card base using a sand colored cardstock from DCWV's Beach House stack and stamped the rope 2/3 of the way down the front of the card using Vintage Photo Distress Ink.  I filled in the rest of the card front with other stamps from the Nautical stamp set using Antique Linen Distress Ink.
For the lighthouse panel, I stamped the image with Versafine Onyx Black ink on kraft cardstock and shaded all around it with more of the Vintage Photo Distress Ink.  I layered that on top of more patterned paper from the Beach House stack.
The sentiment flag used a stamp from Victorine Originals' Floral & Sayings stamp set (one of my all time FAVORITES!)  The only embellishments I used were antiqued copper brads on the card.

Here is a look at the Nautical stamp set
It measures approximately 5.8" (w) x 7.8" (h)

I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Sail Your Ship Card

Happy Monday!  Beth from Beth's Beauties here with you, and today I am bringing you another nautical creation using Victorine Originals stamps!  This time it is a encouragement card.
I stamped the boat and sentiment from the Ship Set using Versafine Black Onyx ink.  I used Tim Holtz Distress Inks to color the paper in.  The colors I used were Antique Linen for the sand, Salty Ocean for the sky (using a hand cut "cloud" piece as a mask) and Peacock Feathers for the water (using a torn piece of cardstock as a mask).  Black Soot distress Ink added dimension to the outside of the panel.
Both rectangular pieces were cut using GMD stitched rectangle dies.  The background paper is from DCWV's Beach House stack.  The front panel is popped up with foam tape.  I stamped the ship a second time, fussy cut it and popped up up with foam tape as well for extra dimension.
Midnight Trendy Twine was the only embellishment I used on the card.
Here is a peek at the Ship stamp set!
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Custom Stamps for Maps by Angie!

We love getting custom stamp orders for different companies. It's fun to discover new companies and their services. We were especially delighted to meet Maps by Angie. She makes custom maps that are simply stunning! She wanted a stamp for her kraft paper tubes to help with branding and to spruce up a rather dull brown. She also wanted a stamp with her address so she wouldn't have to write it out all the time. Major time saver!

Of course, we had to cyber stalk her. (It's a thing, right?) Check out her stuff! You know the usual wedding guest book where people sign their names? This is a new spin on it!  Have your guests sign their names on this map where they are from. She customizes each map to fit you. Wowza!

Already married? No problem. You can get a map that suits your hobbies like a map with the major league baseball teams.
Got a lake house? Check out these cool maps. You can have Angie make them for any lake. Brain hurricane! Got that person who is impossible to buy a gift for? This might be something they don't have.
Memorable road trip? Angie can make you a map incorporating pictures from your adventure!
Angie is super sweet and easy to work with. You can find her on Facebook, Instagram or on her Etsy shop!

Do you need a custom stamp for your business? We have a price guide on our website.

Scissors Tag Card

Good morning!  Beth from Beth's Beauties with you today.  I am sharing a card that I created with the Sewing stamp set from Victorine Originals.  I have been a sewer since I was 5 years old, so this stamp set fit me to a "T"!
I used papers from DCWV's Heirloom stack and 6x6 Paper Lace stack.  Dies are GMD stitched rectangles and scalloped stitched rectangles.  I stamped on the tag using Versafine Black Onyx ink and hilighted areas on it with a white gel pen.  The tan layer of the tag was distressed with Peacock Feathers and Vintage Photo Distress Inks.
I used crinkled seam binding and a little bit of Trendy Twine along with wooden buttons and sewing charms.
For any of you who love sewing or vintage stamp sets, make sure to check out this Sewing set!
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Windmill with Tulips Card

Hello all!  Beth from Beth's Beauties here with you today.  I am back with a springy Victorine Originals creation!  This time I am using a Windmill stamp.  Don't you just love all those tulips that surround it?
I stamped the image on watercolor paper with Versafine Onyx Black ink and used aqua brushes with Tim Holtz Distress Inks to color it in.  To do so, just rub the ink pad face down on your craft mat and pick up a bit of that color with your wet brush and start painting!  The colors I used were (L) Salty Ocean, Vintage Photo, (R) Mustard Seed, Worn Lipstick, and Mowed Lawn.
Once dry, I die cut around the image using Cottage Cutz stitched oval dies.  I used Tombow Xtreme permanent adhesive under the watercolor layer to make sure it had a strong hold.  I layered that with a Spellbinder Floral Ovals die.  The whole oval panel was popped up with Scotch foam tape.
All of the patterned papers are from DCWV's Watercolor stack.  To embellish, I made a double bow of crinkled seam binding and also added three dots of Nuvo Crystal Drops in gloss white.
Here is a closer look at the new Windmill stamp.  It is currently on SALE!
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

Nautical Hutch Card

Hello everyone!  Beth from Beth's Beauties here with you.  I am so excited to be sharing my projects on the Victorine Stamps blog!!   Today I am have a step by step tutorial for a card I created using Victorine OriginalsNautical Hutch stamp and Tim Holtz Distress Inks to add color to it.

I stamped the Nautical Hutch with Versafine Onyx Black ink onto watercolor paper.  I die cut around the image and kept the GMD stitched rectangle die around the watercolor paper and shaded the image with Tea Dye, Salty Ocean and Weathered Wood Distress Inks.
That way, when I removed the metal die, there was a pretty white border on the paper.
Next, I added a small amount of water into the palm of one hand and clapped above the image, making the water splatter all over the panel.  I dabbed off the excess water drops after a few seconds.
After the water was dried, I watered down a little white acrylic paint and flicked it onto the panel.  I dried it with my embossing gun.
Here is the finished card!  I added patterned paper from DCWV's Beach House stack.  The watercolor paper was adhered to the blue patterned paper with Tombow Xtreme permanent adhesive.  I used foam tape between the layers of patterned paper.
This picture lets you see the water reaction to the distress inks and the white paint splatters close up.
The only embellishment I added to the card was a sailor knot using Totally White and Totally Kraft Trendy Twines.
I hope you have a wonderfully crafty day!

There is a BLOG!

Hi all! Sabrina here.  I'm so stinking excited that there a blog for Victorine Originals already!  Look at all these amazing designs!

In case you hadn't heard already, back in July of 2016, my good friend Victorine Lieske sold me Victorine Originals. Her writing career had taken off and she didn't have time to make stamps anymore. (See her books and good stuff by clicking here!) I hauled back all the supplies and I've been muddling my way through the massive learning curve that is taking on a new business ever since. I changed the website and have been adding vintage stamp designs back to the catalog.

Fast forward to today when the very talented card designer, Beth Fiscus, asked me if I had a blog I'd like her to post her designs with my stamps to. After searching to see if there was a blog, the answer became an easy YES!!! Her designs are amazing. You can check them out here!

So, looks like there were a lot of awesome challenges that Victorine used to run. I'll be bringing those back. Fun!

We now have a newsletter list where I send exclusive coupons, business information and run giveaways. Sign up for that here.

I will have to play with the blog more another day. In the meantime, it's a delight to see all of you and I look forward to interacting more!

With Crafty Love,
Sabrina
